Because of their tolerance to wear, drought, heat and water, the fine fescues are adapted to a range of uses from home lawns to athletic fields and golf course roughs. These cool season grasses are used for general purpose turf and erosion control throughout the humid parts of the northern United States and with irrigation in arid regions.
